DeMaria Thanks Residents for Support

Dear Neighbor,

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for signing my nomination papers and to ask for your

support in the coming election.

This is an exciting time for the City of Everett and our future is bright. I am honored to be your Mayor

and over the past six years I have worked hard for you every day to make Everett a great place to live.

We have accomplished a great deal, and I know that by continuing to work together we can accomplish

even more.

Over the past six years, we have renovated Glendale Park, Shapiro Park, the Parlin School, the Connolly

Center and the Stadium. We have built the 9/11 Memorial Plaza and the World War II Roll Call Board.

We are rebuilding the Shute Library and installing new automated water meters. We have repaired

miles of streets and sidewalks. We have reduced crime by 28 percent in the past five year and reduced

City Health Insurance costs by 1.7 million dollars per year. We shut down three illegal rooming house

masquerading as sober homes. We formed an Inspectional Services Department to combat unsafe

housing.  Through the Code Enforcement Task Force, we have closed hundreds of illegal apartments and

we will continue to do so.  We collected millions of dollars in past due taxes. We negotiated a fruitful

host agreement with Steve Wynn. We attracted new companies, like L.Knife and Skyzone. We

implemented the container trash program, saving residents $200,000 a year and doubling recycling. And

this is just the beginning!

There is so much more to do, and together, we can make Everett the best place to work, live and play.

I hope that I can count on your support in September. Please remember that you can always count on

me, as your neighbor, your friend and your Mayor.

Sincerely yours,

Carlo DeMaria

Mayor
